Bell Tower Yappy Hour:
Second Friday of every month

Bring your pooch to Bell Tower Shops for Yappy Hour, where you can meet adoptable dogs, sip on cold refreshments from the outdoor bar and listen to live music with your four-legged friend. Enjoy an evening of music and finish off the night at one of eight pet friendly restaurants throughout the center. This is a free event open to the public with proceeds from the event to benefit the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
River District Farmers Market
Second Thursday of every month
Gulf Coast Humane Society will be undergoing another monthly undertaking by attending the River District Farmers Market, which is held every Thursday at First Street in Centennial Park parking lot under the U.S. 41 Caloosahatchee Bridge.
GCHS will be there every second Thursday of the month, starting Jan. 12.
The River District Farmers Market is the oldest Farmers Market in Lee County. Originally named the Downtown Farmers Market, The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) organized the River District Farmers Market in 1994 to provide convenient and inexpensive market facilities for area vendors to sell their products directly to customers at reasonable prices.
It is a year-round market, while parking is available under the bridge and along the street in Downtown Fort Myers.

Dogs Night Out
Thursday, January 5th, 6-8pm, Coconut Point Mall, between Bokamper Sports Bar and Grill and Radizio Grill. Bring your precious pooches in their HOLIDAY best for the doggy Christmas party and an evening of comradery, fun, giveaways, a photo station and more. Mall retailers DipidyDawg and Petsmart will be onsite during the event, as well.
Looking for a furry new addition* to your family? Local groups Gulf Coast Humane Society, Golden Retriever Rescue, Senior Paws Sanctuary and 45 MPH Couch Potato will be on-site with animals looking for a loving home. Free and open to the community. First Thursday of every month from October - April 6-8pm.

Bark on the Ark

Pure Florida’s Fort Myers location is presenting Bark on the Ark onSaturday, Aug. 15 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Guests will have the opportunity to bring their dogs aboard the M/V Edison Explorer for a sightseeing river cruise to Picnic Island, an island located between Sanibel and Pine Island that exhibits the natural beauty of Southwest Florida.
Passengers can enjoy a peaceful cruise along the Caloosahatchee River followed by a playful time on the island, socializing with man’s best friend.
During the excursion, dogs and owners can run, swim and play catch while enjoying the sunshine, water, sand and fresh air. Water, Frisbees and dog treats are included for the canines.
Human treats, such as soda, wine and beer will also be available for purchase. The M/V Edison Explorer departs from The Marina at Edison Ford, located at 2360 W. First St. in Fort Myers. Registration for the tour is $39 per human. Reservations are required as room is limited to 25 passengers and their pets. All dogs that can follow basic commands are welcome. The River District Alliance (RDA) announces PetWalk, the newest Friday night event in the historic downtown Fort Myers River District, every 4th Friday from 6 – 8 pm on Hendry Street between Bay Street and Edwards Drive.
FREE to the public, the RDA invites well-trained and leashed pets and their owners to enjoy an evening in the River District, including pet friendly exhibitors and vendors. Several downtown merchants will also be participating and welcoming pets. Owners assume all responsibility and risk for their pet.
PetWalk dates for 2016 include: Feb. 26, March 25, April 22, May 27, June 24, July 22, August 26, September 23, October 28, November 25 and December 23.
The River District Alliance (RDA) is a 501(c)3 dedicated to promoting and enhancing the development of the Historic River District as a hub of economic social activity.
