Owner Surrender
By Appointment Only
The Gulf Coast Humane Society can only take animals that are surrendered by their owner. There is a $50 surrender fee to help offset the cost of caring for your animal while it is at the shelter. Due to requirements by Lee County Animal Services, we are unable to take strays or abandoned animals. These animals should be taken to Lee County Animal Services.
Appointments can be made by calling 239-332-0364 during Adoption Center hours:
Monday - noon to 5:00pm
Tuesday - noon to 5:00pm
Wednesday - 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Thursday - noon to 5:00pm
Friday - 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Saturday - noon to 5:00pm
Sunday - noon to 4:00pm
Appointment does not guarantee your pet a spot at the shelter, please see requirements below:
Dog Owner Surrender
Wednesday
Appointments scheduled between 1:30pm-3:30pm
Dogs will be tested for Heartworm and must pass a temperament test.
Must show proof of vaccines.
Cat Owner Surrender
Friday
Appointments scheduled between 12:00pm-2:00pm
Cats will be checked for negative Feline Leukemia/AIDS and must pass a temperament test.
If cat is vaccinated, bring proof of vaccines.
