ADOPTION FORMS
You’re off to a great start looking for the newest addition to your family at the Gulf Coast Humane Society. The dogs and cats here are eager to find their new best friend and our team is excited to help you decide which animal is the right fit for you and your lifestyle.

All of our animals are screened for health and temperament, spayed or neutered, current on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies and they are micro-chipped.

Available animals can be viewed online and by stopping by the shelter during business hours. Our staff will guide you through the adoption process, which includes completing an application form and having a discussion with our shelter staff to ensure that you know all necessary information about adopting your pet. If you see an pet on our website that you are interested in adopting, you will need to come to the shelter to complete or submit your application. For dogs: Once your application is reviewed & approved by a staff member, you will be able to do a meet & greet with the dog you are interested in.

To ensure a smooth transition into the home, it is highly recommended to do a dog-to-dog meet and greet at the Gulf Coast Humane Society with any current dogs and all residents of your home, including children.

WHY WE CHARGE AN ADOPTION FEE

As a private, nonprofit organization that relies completely on private donations and its own fundraising abilities to operate the fees collected from the adoption of each animal help to offset some of the costs involved in providing care for the animals and preparing for placement into a new home. The average cost to shelter, care and prepare our pets for adoption is on average $318.  The fees we charge for adoption have given your new pet all the things to have a great new start with you.  They have been examined by our veterinarian staff; given up to date vaccinations; been spay or neutered; micro-chipped; screened for health and temperament; as well as fed and cared for by our shelter staff.
