Pet Food 4 Furever Families

Picture
The Pet Food 4 Furever Families program was started directly because of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, which hit the United States in full force in late March.

By early April, GCHS created the Pet Food 4 Furever Families program, to help families feed their pets, so they don't need to owner surrender to local shelters. With the program, GCHS attends Mobile Food Pantries in conjunction with Community Cooperative and hands out bagged cat or dog food.

The program is dependent on donations by the public and donors have stepped up since early April. GCHS has handed out over 20 tons of pet food from April to the beginning of January, 2021. That number was supplemented by generous grants by United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee Counties, as well by Golisano Foundation with Bailey's Friends.

Donations can be dropped off or order/deliver from Amazon, Chewy.com or any delivery service to: 2010 Arcadia Street, Fort Myers, Fla. 33916.

When ordering from Amazon, please select GCHS of Fort Myers as your charity of choice for Amazon Smile!
