Scooby
Dolly's Dream May Featured Dog

Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Age: 3 years, 9 months
GCHS Arrival: 11/17/16

A relaxed, fun, curious and attractive Scooby!

Earning the nickname "GQ" of GCHS, Scooby has style.

Scooby... dooby... doo! Living up to his namesake, Scooby is highly trained, maybe not in solving mysteries but he’s got a bright mind and has learned his basic commands such as “sit, down, stay, leave it, watch me, shake and settle” which he can complete at lightning speed.

Since life is such an adventure and he’s eager to see where you’re taking him on his walks, Scooby does need to be in a harness during his walks (his harness will accompany him to his forever home).

He loves to play and be out exploring the world but ideally with his gang (ahem, you!) while doing so. Scooby is working on controlling his excitement level, so playing tug of war with him is a bit too much stimulation for him still but he promises he’ll keep working on this. Scooby is hoping his new parents will continue his training and help him practice calm socialization skills so he can play better. He loves riding in the car and behaves well while cruising with the breeze in his face. Scooby really enjoys sitting next to his human companion. Around the house he is very polite and if he is kept calm, he would be the best couch potato.

Scooby likes to have fun, so bring out the toys! Scooby is very smart and can tend to get bored when he is by himself, so he enjoys being entertained with stuffed Kongs, puzzle toys and durable chew toys.

Scooby is very food motivated (are you surprised that he loves his Scooby snacks?) and has learned new tricks quickly. In addition to playing, he loves a good adventure (the kind without scary ghosts and stuff) so get ready to head out for some exploring. He’ll be excited to go wherever you’re going but when you’re done exploring and playing don’t be surprised if the first thing he does is sneak in a nap.

Scooby is hoping to find an experienced dog owner that will love him for all his goofiness and want to share many an adventure with him (especially if the adventures involve the beach — once he lays down in the sand good luck getting him up again!). If you’ve been thinking Scooby-Dooby-Doo where are you? then you’ll be thrilled to know you’ve finally found him!
