Immokalee Transport

The GCHS Spay/Neuter Clinic staff arrives early in the morning for their Immokalee transport (pictured in gallery). The staff leaves the GCHS campus in Fort Myers at 5:30 a.m. to collect the pets in the Winn-Dixie parking lot. After collecting the pets, the GCHS staff transports the pets back to the Surgical Center, where the animals are spay or neutered.

The pets are not separated long from their forever family, though. The GCHS staff then transports the animals back after their surgery that same afternoon. The surgical staff makes sure all the pets are ready for transport and gives rehab instructions to the owners.

The GCHS transports are every Thursday and include Moore Haven (first Thursday of every month),  Montura (second Thursday), Immokalee (third Thursday) and Clewiston (fourth Thursday).

GCHS is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization and is dependent on donations from the community and public. These donations ensures programs like the Spay/Neuter transports keep moving along! Make an impact on a shelter animals' life and be a solution to pet overpopulation...donate now!!

Surgical Process and Public Pick-Up

The GCHS Spay and Neuter Surgical Center has surpassed 25,000 spay/neuter surgeries, dating from August, 2015. All adoptive animals from GCHS are fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. The public also drops off pets for spay and neuter surgeries, with the process taking only one day. The public starts picking up their beloved pets in the afternoon, making it for a sweet reunion with a healthier pet!

Transport Drop-Off in Montura

After the pets of a transport undergo its spay or neuter surgery and recovery, they are transported back to their owners that same day. The Montura transport is held on every second Thursday of each month. The pets are loaded back up on the GCHS transport van and driven back to Montura, arriving around 4-4:30 p.m.

The reception is a happy and joyous one from both the furry friends and their owners!!
